Aloise is an 18-year-old from Kitale, currently in Form 4 and preparing for his national exams in November. His journey has been one of immense change and resilience.

Before Baskets and Beads Kenya, Aloise lived on the streets, begging and stealing to survive. He had run away from home seeking safety after a traumatic event, but life on the streets was harsh, filled with hunger and cold. His path changed when Eldonna found him. The organization took him in, providing a safe home, food, and the chance to go back to school.

Since joining the sponsorship program in 2020, Aloise has been a dedicated and disciplined student. He has rediscovered hope and is determined to work hard and excel in his studies. His dream is to become a robotic engineer and, once successful, to use his position to help other children who are still on the streets, giving them the same chance he received.

School has been paid for since 2020 through the Baskets and Beads Kenya student sponsorship program: fees, uniform, supplies, and mentorship from the Kenya team.

In Aloise’s words

“Since Baskets and Beads Kenya, I have been able to go back to school and to dream again. I am going to work hard and excel in my studies so that I can help other kids who are on the streets.”
