Bobby was on and off the streets. Whenever his mother was too sick to look for food, Bobby would go to the streets and the dumpster to find it. He had dropped out of school for lack of money.

When the team met him, he told them how much he wanted to go back, and that he wanted to be a pilot to prove to himself that he could make something good of his life. He also dreams of playing football professionally, and of helping other vulnerable kids get off the streets and into a good education. Bobby is hardworking and disciplined, and the sponsorship program has given him the chance to chase both dreams.

School has been paid for since 2024 through the Baskets and Beads Kenya student sponsorship program: fees, uniform, supplies, and mentorship from the Kenya team.

In Bobby’s words

“Since Baskets and Beads Kenya, I have been able to go back to school and to play football, which I love.”
